MEN – Are you experiencing symptoms such as painful urination? Pain or discomfort in the groin? Do you have blood in your urine or have a weak stream? Are you having trouble getting or maintaining an erection? If yes, then you would be wise to consider a PSA test. It stands for Prostate-Specific Antigen and is the substance produced by your prostate gland. This test will determine the amount that is in your blood to indicate any abnormalities that could lead to prostate cancer or prostatitis.
And men, even though you may not show any of those symptoms, you should also consider having this test if you are over 50 years of age, have a family history of prostate cancer or prostatitis, and/or are of African-American decent.
