Are You a Germaphobe?

Well, that just might be a good thing. A recent article by Lisa Collier Cool (awesome name too) breaks down some of the worst places that germs love to “hang out” and some simple way to help avoid them. Just don’t get too carried away though. If you find yourself wiping stuff off every hour or stop going into stores or rooms of fear of picking up a germ or two well, that could be or lead to Germaphobia – a type of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). If you watch Glee, think of Emma the school’s guidance counselor – they even did a tribute just recently using Lady Gaga that helped Emma come face to face with her obsession. If you don’t watch Glee, no big deal – but if you find yourself wiping off every single grape with gloves on before you eat it …well, then it’s probably time you seek some professional help about confronting and fighting OCD.

In the meantime, if you are feeling like you have already picked up a “bug” from somewhere you can get a general health screening here just to be sure it isn’t anything more serious than a cold or flu…if anything at all. Just click on the Comprehensive Metabolic Panel or one of our Essential Panels to get started.
