Some women begin menopause pre-maturely as early as 30 years old. However, most women tend to begin Menopause sometime between 35 and 55. One of the big symptoms is gaining excess weight inexplicably. The weight tends to distribute itself in areas that you may not have carried extra fat at before. Often, excess abdominal fat will occur.
Some other symptoms of early menopause include:
- Hot Flashes
- Missed or irregular periods
- Or unusual flow during periods.
Some women do not experience many symptoms at all. It is important to begin getting tested for menopause as early as 35 if you have a family history of early menopause. Checking your estrogen levels is the best way to get tested.
