The prostate is a gland that is found only in men. It makes some of the fluid that protects and nourishes sperm.
In 2010 217,730 new cases of prostate cancer was reported, while there were 32,050 deaths in the same year. Studies showed that as many as 7 to 9 out of ten men had prostate cancer by the age of 80.
So, should you have a check up with your doctor, or possibly get some blood work done? Have you been putting it off? If, yes then please, by all means, go and have it checked out. You can get a Prostate-Specific Antigen test done or have the rectal exam done by the doctor. It isn’t as bad as you think it will be, and is over before you know it. Remember that one is not a substitute for the other.
